Hi friends, Welcome to the wild side, Steve Hall… We begin with a story about an adventure with the rare qualities of being both exhilarating and relaxing. It takes knowledge, skill, and requires the combination of both wind and water to perform. Artists have captured the beauty of this activity, ironically, on canvas for centuries. And we know a man who gave up politics to teach others what he...

A child who is different from other children often experiences agonizing verbal abuse. While it is sometimes difficult to deal with the difference, it doesn't have to become a disability. So, at 17 years old, one young man, who had insults hurled at him on the playing field, stepped forward to lead by example and light the way for others who are different. Sam has only missed one of the dozens ...

Hi friends... Welcome to the Wild Side... I'm Steve Hall... In full disclosure... I've known the man we are featuring in this story for more than three decades. Stephan Foust and I became friends from the first time we met, partly because we are both broadcast journalists originally from Indiana and ended up in Tennessee working in television news, way back when. We both love the outdoors... Bu...

Most of us love beautiful things in nature... a spectacular sunset... a majestic mountain range... a starlit sky. But those are things we can only appreciate. We may take a picture... but we can't own it or take it home with us. Then... sometimes... we see beautiful things... even living creatures, that we want to have and to hold. And that's not always a good thing. You may have noticed that E...

Sometimes good intentions can have disastrous results. It must have seemed like a good idea back in the 70s for people who wanted to control algae blooms in farm ponds, and improve wastewater treatment, by using a foreign fish. Even though I am a born and raised and loyal Californian; the more I have learned about the red wolves makes me want to visit them in the zoos helping them out, and their facilitated re-introduction in coastal North Carolina where I’ve already found lodging for a potential vacation to see, and hear the wolves for myself. After also learning about, and previously being familiar with, the Florida panthers and how they are the last remaining eastern cousins of mountain lions; the Florida wildlife corridor project gives me a lot of hope in being a potential blueprint for a national wildlife corridor network that will be necessary for the recovery of these wolves, and allowing them to reclaim what’s left of their native habitat along with the other native wolf species besides the success story of the north western Canadian wolves reclaiming Yellowstone, the Rocky Mountains, and are moving back to California, in addition to elk that was previously native to east of the Mississippi in the Appalachian mountains with the successful re-introduction to the Smokies I also learned. I have visited and intend to revisit the California Wolf center in Julian, east of San Diego where I got to see their ambassador north western wolves, and Mexican wolves that thankfully have a hopeful path to recovery with larger numbers at 600 total, yet we need to help the ranchers and also explore corridors for the Mexican wolves and their cousins. In short, I have began and will continue to howl with the wolves.

N-ashville. _Hello from USA's Scottie Ash Seed. Pardon my commenting off subject. It's just several other Wildside videos that were of particular interest. had their commenting section switched off. Specifically regarding Emerald Ash Borer._ *Today Arborists from North America, and now Europe, travel to Chicago. Where we continue to accomplish urban forestries great leap in history, by both totally eradicating Asian Longhorn beetle back in 2001. And since 2008 literally ridding our city of EAB's otherwise fatal exponentially building infestation populations, once transforming every healthy inoculated Ash into supersized EAB bug zapping trap trees.* Today 15 years later even unprotected trees surrounded by inoculated communities, lucky enough to have survived until now. Have already begun vigorously recovering all on their own. *_Take a second to size up your knowledge base regarding everything Ash trees & EAB up until this Minute. You are now prepared to experience_* scottieashseed.wordpress.com I especially encourage those Responsible for helping educate yourself, fellow state & university Arborculturists, Arboretum staff, public, municipal caretakers, forested land management. Please share my link if you know someone locally, other states interested in conserving a select scattered number of already maturing uniquely evolved wild natural woodland seed bearing American Ash trees from today's potential functional extinction in the wild.

The thing is they will swoop in and grab up this land in the name of conservation, but then keep everyone from seeing the caves and land. They have did the same will all the mountain around my area. All the mountain trails and such we frequented when I was a teenager is all blocked off and can't be accessed any more. They have did it in such a way that they can charge you with a crime just for being on some of the trails around my area.
